MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence) shows the relationship between two exponential moving averages, usually the 12 and 26 period. It has a MACD line, a signal line (9-period EMA of MACD) and a histogram.
Crossovers between the MACD and signal lines, and the histogram turning positive or negative, are used to study changes in momentum.
