How to use the options strategy builder
- Enter the spot price, strike step (100 for Nifty, for example) and your contract’s lot size.
- Pick a ready-made strategy or add legs yourself — buy or sell calls, puts or the underlying/future.
- Type premiums from the option chain, or click Price with Black-Scholes to estimate them from implied volatility.
- Read the payoff: max profit, max loss, breakevens and the P&L table at expiry.
Debit vs credit strategies
Debit strategies (long call, bull call spread, long straddle) cost money upfront and need the price to move. Credit strategies (bull put spread, iron condor, short strangle) pay you upfront and profit when the price stays within a range — with margin requirements and, for naked short options, large risk.
Options involve substantial risk. Payoffs ignore brokerage, taxes and early assignment. Education only — not investment advice.
