How to make a salary slip

  1. Enter your company name and address (and your logo with Pro).
  2. Fill in the employee details and the pay month. If the employee took unpaid leave, reduce the paid days — earnings are adjusted automatically.
  3. Add earnings (Basic, HRA, allowances, bonus) and deductions (PF, professional tax, TDS / income tax, advances). Rename any line to match your country.
  4. Click Generate payslip and then Print / Save as PDF.

Typical salary structure in India

Basic is usually 40–50% of gross salary, HRA 40–50% of basic, and the rest is a special allowance. Employee PF is 12% of basic (often capped at ₹1,800 a month on a ₹15,000 wage ceiling) and professional tax depends on the state. See your take-home pay with the CTC to in-hand calculator.

Outside India

Use the currency selector and rename lines — for example Federal Income Tax, State Tax, Social Security and Medicare in the USA, or PAYE Income Tax, National Insurance and Pension in the UK.

FAQ

What should a salary slip contain?

Employer name and address, employee name, ID and designation, the pay period, days paid, every earning (basic, HRA, allowances, bonus), every deduction (provident fund, professional tax, income tax / TDS, other) and the net pay — ideally also in words.

Is a generated payslip legally valid?

A payslip is valid when it is issued by the employer with correct figures. This tool only formats the document; the employer is responsible for the amounts and statutory deductions.

Can I use it outside India?

Yes. Choose your currency and rename the earnings and deductions (for example Federal Tax, Social Security, National Insurance) to match your country.

How is net pay calculated?

Net pay = total earnings − total deductions. If an employee has unpaid leave (LOP), earnings are reduced in proportion to the days paid.
